Puppy Class:
This course is for puppies 3 months to 6 months of age. Only 8 slots are available, first come, first serve. Puppies must have completed their first series of shots, plus their rabies vaccination. The focus is on getting you and your puppy off to a good start. Topics include housebreaking, chewing, jumping up, and basic commands such as sit, down, and come.

Basic Manners:
This course is for dogs that have not had any formal obedience training, regardless of age (puppies must have completed their first series of shots, plus their rabies vaccination). Topics covered include: walking on a loose lead, sit, down, and come. The class also covers dog management and control. At the end of the class, the handler should have a good understanding of how to teach their dog using positive reinforcement (clicker training) and the dog should understand the basic commands.

Intermediate Manners/CGC Prep:
This course expands on the basic class, but with more emphasis on using clicker training to teach various dog behaviors. Included is more work on loose lead walking, duration of sit and down, and coming when called. Also covered are the ten exercises necessary to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizenship Test. This test is conducted the week after the class session is over.

Basics for Competitive Obedience:
This course is intended for those who have never competed in an obedience trial but would like to do so. In addition to practicing obedience exercises with your dog, time will be spent explaining the ins and outs of an obedience trial including how to register your dog, how to enter a trial, rules governing a trial and what the judges expect at an AKC Obedience trial.
Prerequisites: Intermediate Manners, or at the discretion of the instructor.

Beginner Novice Obedience:
This course is intended for those who wish to begin to work on more precision exercises such as Heel on Leash, Figure Eight, Sit for Exam, Recall, Sit Stay, leading to entry in the beginner level of formal obedience competition in standard AKC Obedience trials.
Prerequisites: Intermediate Manners, or at the discretion of the instructor.

Novice Obedience:
This course is intended for those who wish to continue to work on more precision exercises such as Heeling, Stand for Exam, Recall, Stays, Sits and Downs, and Ring Readiness, leading to entry in the first level of formal obedience competition in standard AKC Obedience trials.

AKC Competitive Obedience Skills and Drills workshop:
A fun and fast paced ring preparation class designed to strengthen and improve your ring performance. Suitable for all levels from newbies to seasoned pros. Through a series of challenging drills and proofing exercises you will achieve a more consistent ring performance, learn to work smoothly, accurately, and with confident teamwork. An excellent weekly addition to your solo rally and obedience training program. Build a more confident dog team with improved focus attention and avoiding common ring distractions. Open enrollment format provides ongoing sessions, come for just a tune up or the entire series. Caution: The fun of Competitive obedience and rally can be addicting!
Prerequisites: CGC Certificate or equivalent classwork.

Rally Novice and Intermediate:
This course is for those who wish to continue the training and bonding experience with your dog by participating in the fun sport of Rally. Rally is a sport in which the dog and handler complete a course of stations. At each station a sign indicates the skill that is to be performed such as sit, down, circle right and left and many more. Scoring is not as rigorous as traditional obedience. Rally Novice and Intermediate levels are performed on leash, one dog on the course at a time.
Prerequisites: Intermediate Manners/CGC Prep or attainment of a CGC, or at the discretion of the instructor.

Rally Advanced, Excellent, and Masters:
This course is intended for those who wish to continue to train and compete in the sport of Rally at the Advanced, Excellent and Masters level. Build confidence and focus so your dog can perform the exercises off leash, one dog on the course at a time.

Freestyle 1:
Get your groove on! Freestyle or dancing with your dog is a creative dance routine set to music. It’s a wonderful way to blend standard obedience moves with tricks set to music. No special skills are required and you don’t have to know how to dance. This class will introduce you to the basic steps of freestyle and methods of developing a choregraphed routine. Freestyle promotes fun exercise while building a wonderful bond with your dog.
Prerequisites: No prior experience, but it helps to have basic manners and clicker training skills.

Nose Games and Puzzles:
Smell is one of dog’s most amazing senses.
Did you know:
- Dogs can smell separately with each nostril
- Smelling is both mentally and physically stimulating for your dog
- Some breeds use their ears to better collect scents
- Dogs have a specialized organ to “smell” pheromones
Join us for this short, hands-on class exploring bonding and fun with your dog through nose games and treat based puzzles. Participants will engage in activities ranging from very simple to more complex, enhancing your dogs confidence and problem solving skills. And we will highlight ways nose games can help with other training goals. We will also learn about easy, inexpensive ways to design fun toys and games to play at home. Class size is limited to six dogs, on a first-come-first-served basis.

Circus Dog Tricks Novice:
All dog training is really just tricks! Intro to tricks is a super fun 6 week class geared towards relationship building while learning exciting new behaviors and giving your pooch important mental stimulation. Far from being silly, tricks can be the building blocks for more advanced work in competitive dog sports like agility, obedience or freestyle dance. Teaching tricks gives you valuable training experience using various methods of positive training techniques. Most important, trick training is just plain fun, and not your normal boarding school style obedience class. Your dog will be the life of the party wherever you go. Therapy dogs find it useful to brighten smiles, and make teaching competition behaviors much easier. This class is appropriate for puppies thru adult dogs, no experience necessary. You and your dog will learn sit, paws up, spin, bow, prayers, shake hands, hoop jump, shell game, fetch, roll over, figure 8’s, jump through my arms, wave, soccer, crawl, balance & catch, sit pretty, how to trim their own nails, and more. Catapult your training skills and have a blast working with your dog. Upon completion of your class and display of tricks learned, you will have the opportunity to earn a novice trick dog title NTD. Circus Dog Tricks Intermediate:
Continue adding to your dogs’ tricks repertoire and honing their skills in this 6 week class. More complex and amazing tricks will be introduced. You will participate in a multi dog circus troupe routine choreographed to music. Learn to use props, pedestals, heeling to music and costumes to showcase your dog’s star performance. Stage terms and tips for performing in front of an audience will add polish to your circus show. Upon completion of your class you will have the skills necessary to earn an intermediate trick dog title ITD. Numbers are strictly limited to 8 students due to the amount of space each dog needs. Platform training 101:
One of the most useful sport and shelter dog training concepts is platform training. This workshop will provide any trainer with terrific ways to use various platforms to increase the effectiveness of your training program. You will discover the power of incorporating a precision delivery strategy to further enhance your training success. Using a combination of multimedia, lecture, and drills you will gain valuable insights on how to incorporate these powerful techniques into winning ring performances.

Introduction to Scent Work
What is Scent Work for dogs?
If your dog loves using his sniffer, Scent Work might be his perfect sport! Scent Work is a positive, fun, and engaging activity that allows your dog to follow his nose! This search and scenting activity, suitable for most dogs (and people), helps build confidence and focus as well as provide a safe way to keep your dog fit and healthy through mental and physical exercise.

- Is suitable for any age—puppies to seniors can play!
Intro to Scent Work: This class is the entry level of scent work where you will help build your dog’s drive to search. The game will then be expanded from searching containers to interior areas, vehicles, and exterior areas. As your dog grows more confident with his sniffing, we will expand our searches. Intermediate Scent Work
In this class we will continue to work on the dog’s alert behavior and practice with more challenging searches helping the dog and handler to become more confident in their searches. We will introduce exterior and buried searches and help prepare teams for their first scent work trial experience. We will discuss the rules of the different scent work organizations such as AKC, NACSW and USCSS. If you need a scent work starter kit they will be available for $8.00; pay the instructor directly at class.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Scent Work or equivalent or at the discretion of the instructor. Dogs should be alerting on birch or odor combo otherwise known as a cocktail(birch, anise, clove)

Advanced Scent Work
A continuing class to work toward more challenging searches. Teams will be introduced to elevated hides, inaccessible hides and vehicle searches as well as the last 2 odors in AKC, clove and cypress.
Prerequisite: Intermediate Scent Work or equivalent or at the discretion of the instructor. Dog should be alerting on at least the first 2 AKC odors, birch and anise.
