Registration Information

Welcome New Students!

We teach people how to train their dogs. Our basic obedience class instructs on the use of a Clicker to re-enforce the positive aspects of training. This makes training fun for both people and their dogs.

Locations and Registration

Classes will be located at:

Dogtopia of San Antonio, 5563 De Zavala Rd., Suite 100, San Antonio, TX 78249. Park in the front of the building. Please use the training room entrance. Please be sure to bring a folding chair for yourself.

  • Registration can be completed online via PayPal or in person 30 minutes before the first class -If you register online, be sure to bring your shot records and a copy of your registration form to class.
  • If you register in person CASH OR CHECK ONLY.
  • Shot records are required with all class registrations, please bring them to the first class

Registration Requirements & Cost

Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old. Proof of Vaccinations must be presented at the time of registration. PLEASE SEE OUR DETAILED VACCINATION POLICY. OUR MOST POPULAR CALSSES such as Basic Manners, Intermediate Manners/CGC Prep, Puppy, Scent work, Rally and Obedience are 6 weeks long for $150. Other classes very in length and costs. SADTC reimburses $25 for perfect attendance in a training class (limit of two classes) for those who have adopted dogs from an acknowledged rescue organization.

Please call or email us if assistance is needed in selecting the most appropriate class for your dog. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept aggressive dogs in class at this time. Please call or email us for contact information for professionals who are willing to work with aggressive dogs.

Registration for 2026 classes will open online soon. Classes will start Saturday, January 17, 2026.

    • 8:30 to 9:30am Platform training 101
    • 9:30 to 10:30am Intermediate Manners / CGC Prep
    • 10:30 to 11:30am Basic Manners Obedience
    • 11:30 to 12:30am Competitive Obedience
    • 12:30 to 1:45pm Rally
    • 1:45 – 3:00pm Intro to Agility Obstacles
    • 3:00 to 4:00pm AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy
  • Advanced Scent Work ongoing practice, dates and times vary

    In consideration of the holding of the obedience training, and of the opportunity of having the dog training, I agree to hold the San Antonio Dog Training Club and Dogtopia, their members, directors, officers, and any of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by act of this dog while in or upon the obedience training premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim, and I further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss to this dog by disappearance, theft, damage, or injury caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the club, or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person or by any other cause or causes. If your dog shows aggressive tendencies towards another dog or person, you will be required to muzzle your dog while on SADTC training grounds. No CHILDREN under the age of 14 years are permitted to attend training, as Handler or Visitor, unless with the written permission of the instructor, or if enrolled in the AKC Junior Handler Program. In case of CANCELLATION due to inclement weather, etc., you will be notified. Please plan to attend all classes unless otherwise notified. Please notify your instructor if you are unable to attend. NO REFUNDS.
